A star-making turn from Egerton commands attention.
In Retrospect.
Sticks to the rule-book.
Every true sporting icon deserves their own high-profile dramatised biopic – something to cement their legacy and inspire future generations. Jake La Motta had Raging Bull, Muhammed Ali had Ali, Brian Clough had The Damned United, and now Michael Edwards has Eddie the Eagle.
Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Legend) dons the famous foam-suit and ’tache combo to play the eponymous cult hero, who defied the odds to become the first ski-jumper to represent Great Britain at the Winter Olympics. He’s given a boost by Hugh Jackman’s charismatic coach, Bronson Peary.
